The Emerging Technology Center

The Emerging Technology Center (ETC) is a student and faculty staffed Center that offers support to academic organizations and non-profit businesses in designing, developing and maintaining emerging technology projects.

The Emerging Technology Center was initiated in the fall of 2005 to give our students real world experience, to recruit more students, and to generate funds for equipment and software for the Computer Science Department.

Girls in Science & Technology (GIST)

Girls in Science and Technology (GIST) is a series of weeklong camp sessions for middle school girls. The camp includes activities that focus on World Wide Web page design, animated graphics, programming music, and other computer-based skills. It also includes guest lectures from women working in technical fields, such as Web design technical writing, programming, and management. More info


PASTA Program

Providing Area Schools with Technical Assistance (PASTA) is a program run by the Computer and Information Sciences Department. It pairs students with public schools, providing technical assistance to local schools. While they are in the schools, they become the "help desk" for the teachers, trying to solve whatever problems are reported. They also offer better computers by reconfiguring used computers from ETSU and donating them to the schools.

SAP Logo

The SAP University Alliance The SAP University Alliance is a program that allows universities to teach SAP-related content in courses and provide students with hands-on experience with SAP R/3, SAP ERP, SAP NetWeaver and other Enterprise Resource Planning related products. ETSU is a member of this program. Students have opportunity to gain knowledge and experience by working with the same software systems in use by thousands of companies worldwide. More info
