Areas of Research
- Special problems which impact the attraction of strong students to computer science and the encouragement of continuance and dedication to this discipline. Professor Laws' research follows an information technology action research model (ITAR) as a basis to identify the cause of these problems and the development and dissemination of methods to address them.
- Issues related to the number of women participating in computer science and the problems which fall into this domain. Professor Laws constructed multiple survey instruments to measure attitudes of young females related to science and technology. These instruments were applied during the Girls in Science and Technology (GIST) camp.
