I earned a BS in Physics from Roanoke College in 1967. I entered the PhD program in Physics at UNC, Chapel Hill in the fall of 1967. In the Summer of 1968, I was drafted. I served four years in the United States Air Force at the Air Force Weapons Laboratory. Upon discharge, I began a career in industry that spanned more than 20 years. I then entered the Graduate program in Computer Science, earning a MS in 1996. Since then I have taught at Northeast State Technical Community College, King College, and ETSU.
