Brief Biography
Prof Riser was born and raised in Steubenville, OH and has lived and worked in New Jersey, Ohio, and Tennessee. He earned a BS from Tusculum College in 1962 and an MS from Stevens Institute of Technology. He worked for more than 13 years for Bell Telephone Laboratories before coming to ETSU over 25 years ago.
Bob lives in Jonesborough, is married to Dr Cynthia Burnley, and has three children - Lara (Nashville), Christine (Johnson City), and Eric (Austin TX). He is an avid sports fans, particularly enjoys playing golf, and loves baseball. He also enjoys traveling, reading, politics, and most music.
