Brief Job Description
David works under the direct supervision of the Department of Computer and Information Science (CSCI) Chair to facilitate and manage East Tennessee State University's Providing Area Schools with Technical Assistance (PASTA) program. He directs the process that reconfigures the University's surplus computers so they can be donated to local school systems.
David also facilitates the information technology (IT) support work done by Computer Science senior capstone students in area schools. In addition to his duties as PASTA director, David works with the CSCI Systems Manager to maintain the computer and IT resources of the College of Business and Technology.
Brief Biography
Born and raised in East Tennessee, David attended University School. Upon graduation, he enrolled in ETSU and received a bachelor of arts degree in Humanities. After working in the private sector for several years, David returned to school and earned a bachelor of science degree in Computer Science. After receiving his diploma he worked as an assistant systems manager for a local medical management company.
David began his current job with ETSU in January of 2005. He is currently enrolled in a graduate class this semester and plans to begin working on his Masters degree in Computer Science next fall.
Personal InformationDavid lives with his lovely wife of 35 years, Nancy, on the family farm just outside Jonesborough. They have two children: a daughter, Romilly, who is an advertising executive in Memphis and a son, Ryan, who is currently attending graduate school working on his PhD. David seemingly has working on computers, going to school, and eating as hobbies. But not necessarily in that order.
