Every year, Computer Science students vote for the ACM Teacher of the Year award. This year the title has changed due to a two-way tie! The ACM Teachers of the Year for 2007-2008 are professors Gene Bailey and Don Sanderson. This year the vote was done electronically with students using Zoomerang, an online survey tool.
All the nominees received impressive recommendations. Here are a few excerpts from the winning nominations:
"He [Professor Sanderson] makes learning difficult things effortless. He is always very willing to help students with anything, and his classes are interesting and fun to attend."
"I felt that Dr. Bailey put his heart and soul into teaching us what we needed to know. Plus, I could see that he really cared and helped anyone who was struggling."
Congratulations to all our faculty nominations and especially to the winners!
