Ihab Abuzayda , Alumnus

Ihab's Picture

When you were 10, what did you want to be when you grew up? How about now?
I wanted to be an Orthopedist. I was always impressed (and still am) by the amazing work surgeons do. I have no idea how I ended up doing surgery on software.

What is your hometown?
I was born in Jerusalem and lived most of my life in Ramallah, Palestine.

How old are you? How old do you feel?
25, but feel like 30!

What is the best course on campus? Why do you think so?
ETSU's CS graduate program offers many great courses. What made the program even greater is the talented faculty we have. I especially enjoyed the Software Engineering course taught by Dr. Barrett. Aside from the fact that Dr. Barrett is fun, the course was informative and gave me a chance to deeply understand the process of building software, from the ground up.

If you became president of the United States, what is the first thing you would do?
Now that's a big responsibility! One thing I will do for sure is clean the mess that the current administration has done and still doing in the Middle East.

What is your primary mode of transportation?
My car.

Best movie you have seen lately:
The Transporter.

What is your favorite bumper sticker?
"To hell with the dog, beware of the owner."

Sum up your life philosophy:
"For those who do good there is good in this world, and the home of the Hereafter is even better. Excellent is the abode of the righteous." Holy Quran (16:31)

Favorite aspect of living at (or around) ETSU:
The beauty of nature.
